All the planets move along the zodiac ecliptic at their own pace that differs from the others. The closer a planet is to the Earth, the faster it orbits. The duration of time each remains in a sign varies from a day or two and for some for a period of months. Since the outer planets move very slowly, they remain in each sign for a number of years and are therefore referred to as generational.
As the closer planets transition from one sign to the next, the influences they have on us is generally subtle, also we are more familiar with the nuances of the faster moving planets compared to the ones that move along very slowly. When the outer planets change signs, however, they are able to really shake things up in good ways as well as bad. They may effect the waters and land, our perceptions, imagination and emotions, plus bring about dynamic paradigm shifts.
A clearer picture of the areas in life that the planetary transits are affecting can be obtained by charting their sign placements and angles to the other planets at any given time. Let’s chart the transitional course for the first few months in 2012 and determine what dynamics occur.
Current Transits for February 2012:
While Neptune has been in the sign of Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus for the past 14 years, Uranus has been residing in the sign of Pisces ruled by Neptune for the past 7 1/2 years. These two very impressive planets have been influencing the sector of the other. I haven’t as yet charted how often this planetary placement comes around for these two.
Neptune began its transit into it’s own sign of Pisces last April. It slowed down and retrograded back into Aquarius the pervious August and resumed forward motion again at the beginning of February. Neptune became situated in Pisces by the end of the first week of February and will remain there for the next 14 years. This generation until 2025 will be born under Neptune in its own sign. Some characteristics of this placement in the 12th sector relates to karma, spiritual awareness and imagination. There are also many capabilities included. The specific inclinations are outlined within the natal charts on an individual basis.
Uranus has completed its transit from Pisces to Aries where it will reside for a 7 1/2 year stay. Uranus and Pluto are having a number of 2 degree (very close) square angles to each other that begin June 24, 2012. An additional six or seven squares will occur over the next three years until March 17, 2015.
Uranus awakens existing forms that have become outworn. It may either spice things up to begin again on another level, or it will shatter the very foundations that will pave a way for the development of new formations to sprout forth.
Pluto represents the cycles of life and rebirth and is therefore the lord of the underworld and regeneration. The matters Pluto is involved with are many and various, for example; finances, changing residences, starting a family or a new business, health and fitness, the change from being single to married, change of career and graduations.
The softer angles of Pluto allow things to either fall into place with fewer problems and perhaps better preparation, or for levels of intense energies good enough to meet the challenges. The harsher angles may have fits and starts involved in the process. There exists increased difficulty, whether because there are many, or because of the magnitude. The changes made are fairly solidified.
The nuances of incredible transformation has been on the horizon for a while leading us toward this period where actual changes are on the threshold of unfolding. Neptune has been in a trine angle with Saturn since Christmas which lasts until the end of February. These two will return to a trine angle on October 10 and twice again in 2013; June and July.
No one desires the frustration that happens when having to endure a persistent fogginess while in the process of creating positive changes. Being in states of confusion isn’t something we generally long for in life, however, it can serve a place in the larger scheme of things. Sometimes we need to either reflect or rest more, or plan and prepare. There may be a need for additional information, data or instruction before moving ahead.
Where Pluto is an unmovable force that says, “Beware or look out because here I come”, Saturn is the taskmaster that says, “Build your structures wisely and with discipline”. Neptune allows for spiritual guidance, imagination, a sense of merging through any structures, instinctual awareness, hunches, and dreams and rest in the process. Illusion and delusion may increase during the periods when Saturn and Neptune are in trine angle. The quality of the effects of Neptune is greater when drugs, alcohol and other certain unhealthy habits are avoided.
