Current Astro-Transits (continued) part 2 of 2
Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is the benevolent benefactor and charismatic visionary full of adventure. Its influences may also cause exaggerations, an inclination toward rich foods, to eat or drink too much, skim over details, skip preventative measures and to gamble. Jupiter is a primary factor of luck which may fluctuate as it transits changing aspects (angles) and signs.
From May 2011 to May 2012 Jupiter is in the earthy and practical sign of Taurus.
Jupiter expands and has foresight, while Saturn restricts and prunes back to manifest constructive formations. We have far-reaching possibilities that mingle with the harsh facts presented in the here and now. Effort must be applied in order to get from point A to point B. Jupiter leads by vision, charisma and philosophy while Saturn leads by factual evidence.
From mid-November of last year to the end of February, Jupiter and Saturn have been oppositional, although this angle is not exact. This poses the question of what your vision is and how you are going about building it. The opposition of these two planets will be exact after the next sojourn together in 2029.
Since these two planets are occupying signs that are fairly compatible, events have the ability to work out more smoothly than if they were in other signs. Saturn in Libra brings harmony and negotiation. And Saturn’s trine to Neptune helps to alleviate tensions with compassion and imaginative methods. Jupiter’s free and expansive nature has been lessened and modified by the practical reasoning of Taurus, its current location as of December 25.
Mars in Virgo continues to stir the pot with its wide opposition to Uranus which is also in the fiery sign of Aries. This can increase enthusiasm, but can also consume. Treat this energy delicately, careful to not wake the beast and probably best to simply allow it to remain in the background. Mars retrograde in Venus offers the energy to plan, to prepare the soil and to clear the path of whatever may hinder the development of new growth. This is a time to practice patience and follow through with planning and preparation.
From the 11th to the 20th of February, Venus and Pluto are in a harsh square. Pleasure can be found in unlikely places and is being redefined. Experiencing whatever it is we do to a full extent, can satisfy and get us through difficulties. A harsh triangle that has operated since December 23 between Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus loosens its grip on February 13 and melts away. Having had the need for solutions with few to be found anywhere has demanded that we practice endurance. The middle of the month brings the ability to progress forward a little at a time and with a fresher perspective.
Venus sets in the night sky about 3 1/2 hours before Jupiter the first half of February, and sets one hour before Jupiter by the end of the month. The brilliance of Mars, Jupiter and Venus can all be seen at dusk throughout the month. In early March, Mars will be in opposition to the Sun. It rises around sunset and out-shines the constellation of Leo.
At mid-month Mars in Virgo is still sorting out the basics. It’s important to take a look at the larger picture on occasion to avoid getting swamped by the tedious details. Consider that your focus is on things that are positive and productive. A soft aspect between the Sun, Jupiter and Pluto on the 23rd brings creative solutions, reduces strife and allows healing.
We may be inclined during the last week of February to forget about others and to do what we need for ourselves. With help from the soft aspect mentioned above, most of us will be able to resist that inclination. Importance is still placed on the sense of community at this time, and a shared path that is beneficial to all involved. Saturn reminds us to maintain a balance between our mental, physical and spiritual makeup and that patience is a virtue.
