The moon is the style of which we relate on the emotional level. It has to do with our mother, our maternal upbringing, our maternal behavior toward others and the home. This is also where we can find clues to our emotional karmic
history. The house where the Moon is located are the areas where we feel most at home and where emotional growth is cultivated. How we access and express our feelings are found in the aspects the Moon makes with the other planets.

The lunar nodes are points where the moon crosses the ecliptic. The south node is a summation of all past lives and shows karmic patterns that particularly matter with respect to this life, and the north node shows the goal of this life. It is exactly opposite the south node to create the type of energies necessary to bring about true change and new growth. In Hindu astronomy, Rahu is the North Node (NN), ascending, and Ketu is the South Node (SN), descending on the ecliptic. In ancient European texts (both astronomy and astrology), the NN is referred to as the dragon’s head and the SN, as the dragon’s tail.
